: Not-withstanding the summary forwarded by the Oil and Gas Regulator Authority (OGRA), the Finance Ministry has increased th
e prices of petrol and diesel by only Re 1 per litre for the rem
aining month of February.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, while announcing the new prices of petroleum products on Wednesday, said that OGRA had recommended fixing th
e price of petrol at Rs 72.20 per litre fro
m Rs 70.29 per litre, but it was fixed instead at Rs 71.29 per litre. He stated th
e prices of high speed diesel had also been enhanced fro
m Rs 79.48 per litre to Rs 80.48 per litre. Despite recommendations of a huge increase, th
e prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil were kept unchanged.
