ls and added that China has asked its citizen
s in Pakistan to stay in their homes.
In June, Islamic State (IS) took responsibility for the kidnapping of a Chinese couple wh
o was later killed in Quetta.
China has invested a whopping $60 billion to build infrastructure under Beijing’s “Belt and Road” initiative. The insurgents have been targeting people to sabotage China-P
akistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project in Balochistan.
The govern
ment is making efforts to root out anti-China militants to secure CPEC and Islamabad has also promised Beijing to deploy troops for the protection of Chinese citizens.
